How to Adjust Border Padding in Windows 8/8.1


With everyday there is a new modification to windows 8/8.1 to allow its users to customise as per their needs. Today we are going to tell you how to change windows border padding. You can slim the fat windows 8/8.1 borders with a simple registry edit.
Open up Registry Editor and navigate to following folder:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER >Control Panel > Desktop > WindowMetrics
Right click on PaddedBorderWidth and select Modify to enter custom value.



You can see that the default value is -60. Setting this value to 0 will simply produce no padding while increasing the value with negative sign will produce more fat borders. Enter your custom value, Click OK and reboot your PC.
